Don't know why, but I like it as it is ... feels almost Cel shaded type texture, almost cartoon like.

Soon, Soon...

I have been messing with the transfer maps tool in maya and I cant quite get it to work right. I have been using my simple railing mesh, trying to make it look smoother, but I am not sure if it is working. I will play with it some more. I am starting on base textures and materials today. In the meantime, I think I have the lighting just about done:

How do you get the plain grey textures in unreal ed? Is it the default material? I am getting the checker pattern. Also are you using vertex lighting or light maps? Shadows look good.

You can turn on lighting only which will make all your meshes and brushes grey but shows the lights and how they are affecting the geometry.

Yep, that's it

Modeled one of these in 1.5 hours as a little speed modeling practice, they will go in the level as well. Its not a UT map until it has some crates in it.

First textured asset in engine. A nice simple concrete buttress. No spec or normal yet, still trying to remember work flow from Maya to unreal.
