Okay, my scene for a movie entry will be continued here. The whole scene will be an important portfolio object, so any critism is appreciated. Ill model the whole street, some cars and the Tripod, just not sure if Ill model the destroyed street or not. Ill try to import everything into Crysis when everythings done.

heres my moodboard:

And heres a picture of my "scene", blocked out the buildings Im going to model, should be good enought for a blockout.

Alright, heres finally an update, was really busy with school the last days so there wasnt much time to do anything. Modeled one of the windows, the doors, the fence and some smaller details.

Very interesting, its also looking fairly solid so far. Employees will like this I asume as its referenced, infact. The whole movie scene concept was an amazing idea for a compeition, perfect for portfilo work.

The church itself is slightly thinner than the concept, also I would recommend getting basic versions of all your scene models as well as pre visualisation lighting done first. It will help focus yoour modelling and textures down the right path. Oh and the doorway is wider also. But then again thats down to personal preference. Might save you some time down the road though.

Thanks for brightening them up, they really came out a bit dark^^

@Mist: thanks

@IchII3D: Thanks for your comment. I loved the movie scene contest idea, a shame I couldnt start earlier to finish in time. Hope to see something like that here again.

Hope these are better, finished modeling everything, also fixed the stairs, found a really nice photo of them. Now I have to create some highpolygon models of some of the details to render some normal maps, never worked with mudbox or Zbrush, lets see how the stuff turns out.

I noticed that currently your putting a lot of time and effort into the first church, but you have five more buildings to go as well as all the cars, road, lamp posts etc... I would recommend blocking out your scene more, getting an idea of the scale of objects more as well as getting to grips with the amount of work you have to do, see where you can cut corners and where you can repeat objects. The church looks great so far, but its taken you a fair bit of time to get it done.

Yeah, but I expected it to take so long, just want to get everything nicely done, I dont want to rush things.

Okay, unwrapped the church modules and created highpolyversions of everything. Im currently rendering an AO map with mental ray and theres the problem: It doesnt show any objects I look at from behind, like they arent 2sided and invisible. Never got any problems like that with scanline but there are some parts which are missing on my AO map now. Any chance to change that without editing the UVs, just mirroring them wont work because theres not much space left.

Mate it's not about rushing things, it's about getting a handle on exactly how much you have to do, where everything will be, scale, and most importantly how much you have to do
