Air Scouting Droid

For which Engine - unreal
Current Polycount - N/A
Max Polycount - N/A
Texture Size - N/A
Description of background information on piece - Plan on designing an Air scouting droid, will upload sketchs, models and textures as I create them. Will not have loads of free time so there might be a bit of gaps between posts.
Where are you looking to receive criticism - Anywhere and everywhere.

First really rough concept, please ignore the dodgy perspective.

Cheers

Looks interesting, I'm always a sucker for cool space ships.

Should be good.

Hi,

Thanks for the encoragement, I have been really busy with other things so not had much time to do anything on this, I have however created a couple more sketches that hopefully are nearer a final design. will update ASAP.

Thanks again.

More upto date concept as promised, Think I'm going to do some panel detail variations and post them.

Reminds me of those Protoss Probes from Starcraft.

Reminds me of a shark. A big, mechanical, flying shark. With laser beams in his head. I like the concept, can't wait to see more.

Very nice concept. I, like Swag, am also a sucker for cool space ships. My only thought is that the exhaust pipes don't seem to fit as well with the rest of the droid. I think this is because the rest of the ship is very angular, and the pipes have smooth curves. That could be a good thing though, as it adds more variation to the scene. Regardless, I think this concept could turn out to be an awesome modeling subject. Good luck!

Jimi: Just googled it, guess there are similarities, i could not find a good image of it though. Never really played starcraft, but did really love the new marine CG trailer for starcraft 2.

MisterWhipple: Thanks for the comments, was always interested by sharks as a kid so there is prob some subliminal thinking coming though in the design. lol.

jlewlotr: Agree with you about the exhausts, I might see what its like removing them. I also think that I'm going to redesign some of the details on the ship.

To help get into this detail designing, I did lots of quick <1 min sketches of all sorts of various bits and bobs to get into the mind set. These are not very well drawn but hey I want to try and show the project from start to finish do thought that I'd post them anyway.

Cheers for the comments and inspiration
Chris
