Drying Rack

hehe not a very dramatic piece but i figured i have never pimped anything here before
anyways this is for a friends RO map so no next-gen goodies

Hay drying rack:

340 polys and 512x512 map

Mostly a texturing exersice, tried to handpaint everything. turned out ok i think. Got some other stuff brewing for his map also, maybe put them in here aswell as they get finished!

comments & crits most welcome (also praise and gifts)

That's handpainted , it looks very sourced. The texture looks good though. Perhaps you use those verts in the poles better, by arching them some more, they don't contribute that much right now.

Good job

thanks

Yes most of it is handpainted but i cheated and used a bark as overlay on the wood there in the bottom. Its kinda pointless tho as i could have used a bunch of photos and get the same results in lesser time.. Anyways its nice to try it yourself now and then!

About the poles i kept them kind of straight since he will be reusing the asset across the map so it have to be a little generic

The wood is running the wrong direction on the horizontal wood strips (racks?). I suggest adjusting the UVs to use the wood slats from the middle of the texture sheet. This will also contrast the horizontal wood from the vertical wood, which currently does not read.

I know it's a map prop, but you should shade it very slightly.
