i could. im affraid im not the greatest at texturing. so its a little embarassing. i split him into 2 halves. top half and power fist and bottom half and flamer.
if i were to make it properly for a mod or whatever. id probably have used a 1024 for his body and 2 512 1 each for his pf and flamer. but i wanted the extra texture space.

your lighting isnt doing you any favours at all, the base is too light and the model is way too dark. I would start again with the lights.

You've hit the problem that always comes up with 40K stuff. The art style looks amazing on a miniature but in 3d it always looks really undetailed and bland. You have a lot of plain metal surfaces with no sign of any joins, construction, specific wear and tear etc

If this is for your folio I would go to town on the details, use proper warhammer references so the style stays consisitent but find a way to add interest to the guy and make him stand out from the other space marine models

The skeleton is a bit off, like the colors and it looks a bit too grainy. I don't know what your workflow is but it looks like you just copy and paste some textures and put that on your map.

Here is a tutorial which could be very usefull.

thanks ben i dont know what to do with the lighting. if i raise the brightness on the red in hit tex it starts to burn out the highlights. and if i up the lights any more... well just look at the grey on the base....itll just be too overpowered. i might try turning the lights down a little and bringing the brightness of the red up. try and balance it out before i move on ill see what kinda stuff i can add. im kinda sold on the idea of the legh decal i have on one of my characters (a kind of mini angel) amd his right shoulder will have the blood angels logo on it. im going to add more to the power fist i think, ill start adding bits and keep posting them up.

haha its grainy because im using depth mapped shadows with no filter on. its messing with the curved surfaces. lol didnt mean to post twice joukejan. your right. i know about the yellow on the skull too. ill change tat now to make sure i dont forget

::also:: im going to add some stuff. was just looking at it and thinking about details. was thinking purity seals and chunks of scripture you sometimes get hanging from them. im obviously going add battle damage as well as a few last normal mapped details hes still missing (like the design on his belt)....

Add some flare to it, add like a banner on his back. And maybe change the colour of his helmet to white, just to add some colour variation and some importance to the character. I think at the moment it looks okay but its just another 40k model, not much different to a DoW one, just my 2 cents but nice work so far.
