Marshall Stack

So I decided to model and texture my guitar amp cuz there's a lot of interesting texture on it and I thought it'd be good texturing practice, here's what I have so far, it's definately not done, i just have the basic textures and colors, i still have to add all the little details and wear and tear and such, just thought i'd get some opinions so far.

It looks like you have some funky hidden edges which are causing your normals to have issues. Check the sides of the amp.

yeah I'll definately check on those faces, I think it might've been how I made clone for the wireframe render though, because I never saw those problems until i rendered the wireframe.

sampson: thanks, for the comment, I know its still pretty dark, if the wear and tear i add doesn't add a little more contrast tan I'll probably have to lighten up the main plastic parts of the amp so the front grill thing stands out more

This prop is just begging for a specular map to make it stand out. You could lighten up the texture a tad and make sure you add some decent lighting in your scene before rendering.

yeah i know it could deinfately use a specular, the contrast of the metal to the plastic is a lot and i think a specular would really make it stand out, i still have to do that and the normal, but i still have to add a lot to the diffuse first

it's pretty dark, you should brighten it up to a dark grey

I think it's a bit more than that...it looks like you have a 5-sided face on the right side.

ok yeah your right, i checked and both sides were 5 sided faces, easy enough to fix though, as there were a couple i could weld together without doing any damage
