Thanks for the comments there.. I've not added anything new modelling wise, other then adding skirtingboards to the walls as suggested.. I've mainly been playing around with the lighting the scene.

Would like an opinion of the kind of mood this scene gives.

I really like the doors, remind of me something from the 5th element. Perhaps the ceiling could benefit from having some more going on up there, either through textures or geometry. The lights seem strange... I can't figure out how they are constructed. It has come along way since the last couple of posts, you are moving the in right direction.

The lighting does seem strange, but otherwise it looks good. I think that the numberpad should be lit up, like the door number above it.

Ya, i think the cieling lights look crap.. i think might have to re-model them again. Also work on the door control panal and also i might add some pipes along the ceiling, just not sure if that may seem outta place. Although I think it'd make the environment more sort grungy/sci-fi.

Hey Ibrahim,

I joined this site to say, on my first visit here you helped me get what normal maps are and how powerful they can be... thanks.

It's great to see great work but it's even better when it teaches you something.

Nice one.

Well, I made a few more adjustments on the evironment, not that I had a lot of time to do very much 3D work at all, due to work... which sucks

Anyhoo, I think i'm pretty much finished with this... would like to get some critique, specifically the texture, lighting and atmosphere.

@ArtistoftheFuture: Well... i do use 3DS Max actually, but I render the scenes using VRay

Thanks all for the comments so far

Hey man,

looking at all the other stuff you did, I must say I kinda expected to see more . The textures on themselves don't look bad, but they don't realy match together imo. Or at least not with some propper work on the seams. Designwhise, there are no bolts, no special shapes, no extra details on the textures like seams or extra plates, just cubes lined up against eachother. I keep on scrolling down to look at your other work, which all look great, but imo this definitely isn't one of those pieces...

sorry

Well thanks for being honest... i'm not really sure what else to add to the scene... i've been scratching my head for several days trying to work it out.

Referring to the texturing, are you talking about adding more details to the walls?
