While I know what you're saying, I wasn't saying not to use repeated environment buildings. I was pointing out that he shouldn't use repeated buildings in a linear environment, but if it was more open ended, then repeated buildings are fine so long as there is still some form of variation and spacing. (Not having several repeated objects in a small proximity)
I agree with what you're saying, and perhaps I mis-wrote what I was getting at. I'm not going to discuss my environment any further, it is not my thread. But I will say that the game runs fine with plenty of custom made objects, buildings, props etc with added AI, high detail textures, particle effects, lighting effects, etc. Just play STALKER, you'll know what I mean. |

Hey guys I'm resurrecting this thread from the dead with some updates on assets that I've textured. From where I've started with the level I've finished unwrapping the assets and now I'm texturing so updates will come more frequently.
![]() The Road Closed sign and Electrical box are using 1024x1024 and the rest of the objects are using 512x512 maps. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Here's a quick update. I've been working on the town homes unwrapping and adding textures. As it stands right now I'm using a 1024x768 tilable map for the bricks, a 1024x1024 map for the trim, windows and doors and a 512x512 for the window ornaments. I'm learning alot as I go about unwrapping and texturing. Crits and comments are always welcome.
