VW Kübelwagen (56k!)

Im working on a VW Kübelwagen Type 82 (ala Sd KfZ 1) for the Battlegroup - Frontlines Mod at the moment. Im skinning it for about 1 week and its at about 75% now. I hope I can finish it during the next week.

Any suggestions, critics?

well, it looks ok, but unless you are only texturing one side of the car you might want to post some perspective renders. they give a much better overview. The fender do look kinda blury compared to the side of the car.

What's the polycount btw?

you are right about the fenders. The white stripes look too blurry, i need to fix that. perspective render coming soon.

polies = 4626, but the model is not from me and it also has a window and a roof (both hidden atm). I cannot model.

Ive had some progress for the last few days... take a look

btw. ignore the bright fenders. My omni light makes them so bright and i dont know why (the rest of the side is not so bright). On the skin the metal and mud from fenders and rest of the side has no difference in brightness, contrast etc...

other bugs:

- plane is inside the kubel
- wheels arent skinned inside.
- frontpart is not skinned. It only has a simple metallayer.
- details missing if you can call that a bug

several more bugs in it.

In my opionion it's coming along very nicely. Do you plan to use normal or specular maps?

I'd add some more structure to the dirt parts, maybe also in a slightly different color. The front lights look a little blurry right now. I think the overall metal look is quite good, interesting to see how it will look, when you are done with the fabric roof parts and wooden window elements.

So keep it up dude!

its comin' closer and closer to finalization. Will spend more work on normal map tomorrow and need to get the fudging spec map working.
