Hi guys, I'm still working on my model but I'm having some trouble with the normal map.
I tryed to generate that one thanks Maya and Xnormals but everytime i get something wrong. ![]() Your help would be very appreciated ![]() Look at the screen below you will notice yourself what's wrong... Normal in Maya ![]() Normal thanks Xnormals ![]() Do you know exactly why I got those problems? |

I would suggest looking at the normal mapping part of the making of the giant tutorial:
Game Artist - Making of The Giant And use the settings they suggest, it helped me a lot with normal mapping! Also make sure the low poly mesh fits tight around the high poly. JAson |

Thanks shadowholm, I try to use the same settings and I still have the same prolem, that's driving me crazy... lol
I think my lowpolymesh fits well with the high look at the screen below. But don't pay attention to the belt and hands of the low poly that's normal they don't fit well because the highpoly model doesn't have those parts. |

Finally i got something not so bad.... I use 3dsmax and change a little bit the settings of the cage's projection. I still had some errors on my normal map but I corrected these errors by painting in photoshop.
