hellboy - in all the comics/art is a beefy fit dude - with a triangular body shape, all shoulders, pecs and biceps then tiny/ish hoofed bovine legs, so scale those areas up a bit..

the Right Arm of Doom, is waaay "huger", add another hands length to the whole arm a scale up the rocky part - plus the hand is connected to the wirst stump via a ball joint/socket, and not the traditional wrist way.

And maybe tidy up some of the geometry around the chest bit - even for sculpting you probably dont need that much detail/quads between the two pecs, unless you intend to go crazy with some chest hair

I'm aiming more of a Ron Perlman hellboy then the comic style hellboy, so I going to stick with these proportions if you don't mind

A little prop I've started for college


It's at 634 triangles, which I'm guessing is far too many for such a simple thing, but..... I'm not really that arsed.

Will probably change the text on it, and might make it a bit more worn. then I'll try and figure out how to do a decent specular map, and I might give it a quick crazybumped normal map.

Never did a character before, so I'm working on this guy. I'm not a cartoony guy so this was a stretch for me.
No textures, just some maya shaders to test right now.

I'm not liking the hat though.
