Wee bit o' progress. Mostly tweaks and mesh cleanup. And lower-back dimples!
![]() I get the feeling this one's going back into the deep freeze for a while though as I have other projects to work on. |

Very slow progress on this darn handgun as I've got other contracted models in the works at the same time, so it's something I spend minutes on here and there whenever I get a chance.
Lowpoly game mesh with baked normal maps applied, plus some text using the nvidia plugin. So far the colour and spec maps consist of just 2 basecolours and some noice. ![]() ![]() Highpoly mesh used for baking View of other side

looking nice tkaza.
Considering the amount of tris you've got in the wheels you can afford to add more loops to the front bumper, grill and hood to round it out. Where you spokes meet the rim you could chamfer those edges, to smoothen it off a bit. |

Here's some wires for you retardedmonkey.
![]() ![]() It's alittle overboard when it comes to polys at 2408 as I really chamfered edges that I didn't need to chamfer, like the front of the slide and frame aswell as the area around the magwell. But as it's only a "practice" model and not really intent for use I won't bother fixing that at this stage, removing those chamfers would likely bring it down to the 2000 mark

Snowman, yeah it could use some optimizations for sure but still it looks good with the normal maps on
Actually I think you could easily take it well under 2000 tris without losing to much detail. But like I said, still looks good with the normal map on it.

Alright, so this has nothing to do with game art but anyways.
Working on a test for a company called Fantasy Interactive (Producers Wanted - Fantasy Interactive). One part of the test is to make three icons that's easy to follow what they does. They will also have to be in the same style. So here's what I've done, I will probably make some more later since it's kinda fun actually ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() There is some errors in them though. The joystick icons have some white matting that have to be fixed (easy). Also the metallic material on the pencil eraser don't look very metallic right now. Speaking of witch, they're all created in Maya, color+occlusion. No editing on top of that except some erasing in the joystick occlusion.
