Be careful with painted specular, you're better of with a good specular map if you ask me...

the area where the wood of the stock meets the metal of the MG could use a bit more work too, not sure if that is already final or not though...

It's the early begining of my texture work.
If I understand,
- my highlights are too "eavy".
- I have to paint my specular more "smooth" and make them more hard on a specular map.

Sorry for the quality of my English...

I think he's suggesting you should not paint light on your diffuse map and instead use a specular map that represents the materials. It depends on what engine this is for.

Right now I'm working on a concept I found somewhere (have no idea where, if anyone could identify THIS, please tell me) of a futuristic bunker. Currently stuck trying to move from modelling though unwrapping to texturing, but keep bumping back to modelling. Bad habit of mine, afraid that something with the model is wrong and have to redo unwraps and textures, so I never get working with texturing. :P

My wip I'm working... recreating a street-only have one old image found on internet for reference (SIBIU MULTIMEDIA - Imagini vechi din Sibiu/Strada Arhivelor), still have a lot to do- add more modeling details, texture the rest of the buildings and optimize the scene, fix some problems, rotate on z axis the Building from right etc - current tris = 13 637.

Created using a mix of 3ds max+mudbox. Still early WiP, got a lot to do. This is my first time using mudbox, and I'm still learning most of 3ds max.

It's got a hella of a lotta polys.. about 4 million (O.O), but I'm just using the high poly to create textures for the low poly version.

being frustrated from my lack of texture skills, I took a break today from my ak47 and am working on a high poly sci-fi corridor, which I will then build a low poly over it.
