The sackboy looks wicked! i want one

I've been doing my first high poly -> low poly normal map process in Max with a Walther p99. Nothing textured yet, just a simple metal placeholder in the diffuse at the moment. Viewport grab using metal bump9 shader and 2 omni's with my first render to texture normal map!

Viewport Printscreen ->

Viewport Printscreen of wireframe ->

And the normal map generated from the high poly ->

kysterama: You probably want to make the entire model 1 smooth group. Currently there's a ton of hard edges and that's making your normal map bake very strange looking and it also means that the baking misses out a lot of the high poly model.

There's also something very strange happening with the circular indent above the trigger - I'm not really sure why it'd be doing that.

Stitching together an island with multiple smoothing groups would cause a visible edge error, not a hard edge... I'm wondering if what his highpoly looks like

RG-31 Nyala

Hey guys,

This is the finished model of my RG-31 Nyala. It's a vehicle that is being used by the Canadian Forces, and it will be part of the Operation Northstar Mod.

Any crits are welcome!
