I would like to maybe see some green on the trees though, or any colour really just to make them stand out a bit from the wooden fence in the foreground

it wasn't made for bright areas, so it's kinda sloppy but i'm really satified with the result.

@benclark: Actually the trees are green (http://www.bja-design.de/different/c...ee_diffuse.jpg), I've desaturated it a bit though, so that the background doesn't draw too much attention. Main focus was on the building.

@TheCorey: No, just for fun

@svelle: those cracks need more variation. It seems like you made one, and just copy, pasted and rotated it.

Hk416

Hey guys, I'm working on an HK416 and this is my progress so far. Its just for personal enjoyment / portfolio. Still needs a bit of work and textures will not be fun since i can barely navigate PS haha.

@Pankake - Cheers, yeah I think I went a little overboard on the grungeyness. Gonna tone it down and lighten the tops of the cobbles where lots of people have walked over them so that will hopefully make it pop a little better.

@Talon
- It will be a floor, I just find it easy to look at textures propped up like that while I'm still messing with them

@fabiodan
- Good call on the book pages. I'll be sure to change that.

Here's some stuff from today. Everything just has a first pass diffuse at the moment, no spec or normal as yet. Not really that happy with them so I'm hoping after a few more hours they will come to life a bit more. Having said that I don't want to spend too much time as they are just going to be used for general 'background clutter'.

Some hands for my mod! (Source)
Working on the texture for the hands. Any sugegstions to what fabric I should use on the gloves? I'm (as you can see) not happy with that texture. It's just a temp.

Anyways, some feedback on the mesh and texture, is always appreciated.
I'll provide some maps soon.

edit: Oh darn, almost forgot to mention.
I'm using the HL2 hand mesh. Havent gone into making them myself yet.
But ofcourse I will. Still having problems with the proportions and anathology (spell?)
Neede some for showcase and ingame test.
