Those kind of things
The magazine, goes into the pistol from the top (mainly because I got tired of designing weapons with the traditional loading system, like underneath it :P ) It's the thick black bit sticking out of the middle of the top of the pistol.

There is no hammer. The small and underpowered 4mm caseless rounds are fired with an electronic shock that triggers the primer to explode. Since there's no case, there's nothing to eject so another problem solved. The technology for this allready excist (The Caseless rounds of the H&K G11 and Metalstorm's Electronic Ignition System)

Now for the Sci-Fi part..
When the bullet leaves the very tip of the gun, electricity is fired into the bullet, which is made out of some-special-material that keeps the electricity stuck with the bullet until next impact. Upon impact the electricity spreads from the bullet and shocks/burns the victim..

..It's sci-fi. Everything is possible.. and I qoute 'Thank you for smoking':
"..it's an easy fix. One line of dialogue. 'Thank God we invented the... you know, whatever device.'"

Basicly it's a standard Law Enforcement pistol to be used in close quarters in space stations or ships. Mainly used to stun/hurt the enemy, but can be switched (with the rotating lever thing on the side) to a more lethal voltage..

and now, a progress update :P

Anath

A character I'm currently working on. I don't have an incredible amount of time, so I work on him when I can. I should have some more time open up to me in a little more than a week, so I'll be able to sink more into him then.

I modeled him in Maya and I took him in ZBrush for some sculpting. I only sculpted on him for 20 minutes or so, though. This is an early WIP.

Looking good Arman but i would dirty it up more like the wheels and the gun turret itself. Only put dirt and grime where it makes sense though. Do some research on wear and tear for different types of metals. Adding wear tear also helps break up the repetitive brown and gray color, because right now it looks bland. Also the normals dont seem to pop out as much, but its getting there.

Here's what im working on. It's a alien temple for a game company, and right now the textures are 2048 but will shrink them down soon to 1024. Going to add more stuff too it later and export it into the Unreal 3 engine.
