hi folks. pretty neat stuff you post here! nice to browse through this thread!
i have also one thing in work.
its a harbour scene.

the scene in this actual rendering has not very much polys and is texture optimized.
but i plan to make this scene a high poly one with many 4k textures for a beauty render.

at first i made it for a lighting lecture i gave at a mediadesign college. but the lighting came out pretty good, and now i will polish the scene also in modeling and texture aspects. anyway, here it is so far:

Talon, look very nice the only issue i have with the gold statue is that the top half of the body muscles like the pecs are very defined where as the 6 pack is not very defined, i think both area should be equally defined as it is all one body

also on the textured granite i thinks the green needs toning down a little, not sure if is just me but i can see obvious repeating of the pattern of the green it would look better if is was less uniformed, but that may be down to tiling.

Ok, So, I have the basic lighting down on some parts, What do you all think? Please don't post things like It needs to be darker!! Make it darker, I will quote you and tell you that you are an idiot if you think that I was gonna make it a light color. This is just for lighting reasons. Please tell me what you think. Its mostly my second day of REAL skinning. I am a modeler by trade, but i thought that i should learn skinning to further my technique. Thats my scope on top ^-^

The abs aren't very defined on the real statue, either. So I'm fairly happy leaving them as-is. Although I've still to touch up the normals a little on the statue - some need tweaked and I need to add his belt and the zodiac signs.

The granite tiles ever 3 slabs, so I think it's just down to clumsy texturing than obvious tiling, I'll fix it up tomorrow

A lot of it will be getting covered in vines and overgrowth, too, by the time I'm done. So it'll be half hidden and probably a lot more run down.

I see on the statue that there are two lines of skin folding that you dont have, i now realize why the stomach area did not feel right it is missing the belly button but you may not have got round to that

But once you change these few detail i think the piece with come together, good luck.

Armanguy: Looking like a very solid models so far but it would be easier to crit is it had a wire mesh.

The only part that looks a little odd to me is the bit the main barrel of the gun is attached to it just seems too boxy but that maybe because it is not finished!

Looking good Armanguy.

The fans look really out of place, though. They're a major weak point on such a heavily armored vehicle - what are they for?

Will it have crane truck type feet? 'Cause that cannon is pretty near the back of a back-heavy vehicle, looks like it could easily up-end it with the recoil on that thing.
