My First Prop - File Cabinet
My first prop, just trying to get my feet wet with this. I didn't have a polygon count or anything in mind, just trying to create a model with just the one perspective reference. I know I messed up a little on the sides of the cabinet, where I pushed them in a bit too much, but other then that, I'm pretty happy with it. About an hour of work on this one.

Some points from the ref:
The sides are flat. You don’t need that bevel or cuts in that you added. You also don’t need the horizontal edge cuts on the side. The inside of the drawer is larger, and should fit more snuggly into the hole cut for it. The handles aren’t as round as you modeled them. They have a rectangular shape with rounded off corners. There are a lot of little things you probably don’t need to model in to this as a low poly map object such as the sliders on the side of the drawer, the box and cylinder at the top, and the box behind the handles unless you want to use this as a high poly to generate a normal map for a low poly mesh. Keep it up, and be sure to texture this for the practice! |
