mini environment practise
For which Engine - not that experienced yet=)
Current Polycount - 3600 tris Max Polycount - Texture Size - 1x512 for wall, 1x512 for ground, 1x512 for bike just started. Description of background information on piece - just something for practise. Where are you looking to receive criticism - anywhere. _________________________________________________ for now the bike is just sitting there.will place it when i finish it and maybe add a few more things but for now i just wanted to practise modelling and texturing. i am showing just a screen grab from the maya viewport as its closer to what it would look like in game i think??does anyone have any ideas where to learn how to get your models ingame to view them??? also the shadows look horrible i know.im guessing thats the best my graphics card can do? any crits/ideas welcome. cheers. |

Use the Unreal Engine. It's very artist friendly. Just import, light, play. No compiling or the like. Fast and easy. Tutorials are all over the net. Consider http://udn.epicgames.com

Nice little scene. Wires look good, the texture can use some more contrast and some more color.

I think 2.5 is the latest, but I dunno about the details. You should find them at UDN or www.unrealtechnology.com. There's also 2.X or something, but i believe that one's for consoles only!? Anyway, UEngine3's Editor (GoW, UT3) will be similar to the current one, so you'll have a good start modding next-gen stuff with UE3, if you get to know the latest engine resp. editor.
