Radioactive Tree

Been a while since my last post, but for the past couple of days I've been doing this sculpt (which started out as ZSpheres.. which I had never used before)

The idea is, is to have a florescent green liquid (radioactive waste) coming out of the barrel covering the roots and the ground (when it's made), I'm also toying with the idea of creating a very small environment where the liquid could trickle its way into a water source, what do you guys think?

Anyway, here's the finished sculpt..

I think the tree is lacking some variation in the branch size.
It might be an idea to go to the lowest subd and make some branches thin/short/long etc.
also most of the branches feels like a perfect cylinder which is tapered at the tip. You could also break up the "perfectness" in these areas.

Those points I mentioned are really easy and fast things that can be done and will go a long way. Good luck!

Your idea is awesome, but imho the tree looks too "normal". When I saw this title, I immediatly thought to a tree who had started its mutation, with various deformed overgrowth due to DNA alterations... ie:

Thanks for the comments guys, I was originally going to have it as if the barrel(s) have only just been dumped there. Without changing the sculpt too much (as it took me bloody ages to get this far.. I'm not the quickest ZBrush user) what do you guys think I could do to make it look a bit more mutated?

I was thinking of adding glowing warts that are hanging off the bark, kinda like the one in the image below but more 'fleshy'. What do you guys think?

EDIT:
In terms of the wart, think this thing in the video is a good representation of what I'm thinking of

Quick update, havnen't done much on this but added some warts to the tree, they're going to have a subtle green glow. There is a wart round the back that is 'popped' and will have green ooze running down the bark.

Eventually when the low poly is finished, I will have foliage around the base as well as vines draping over some of the branches.

Hope you guys like it so far!
