Toyota Tundra

Started working on this car. The goal is to do exterior and interior and make it animatable

Made like one poorly made car before, so this can only be better than that one. Any crits tips or what ever is welcomed!

Good start... though I wonder if the hard edges on the side (door) are really that hard on the actual car... Not sure, but I think they are to hard, just a bit Same for the corner of the bumper in the front of the car...
Other crits: wheel area is to flat i think. It need to be more rounded and then go straight down. Not sure though (need to check a side picture to be sure). I'm just eyeballing right now
You also got a issue on the back (lower corner before bumper) and the left corner of the second part goes up, shouldn't that be straight? And I guess you haven't worked on the cabine area...? I you did, def recheck the main edge that create the transition from the roof to the side, it need a bigger and smoother curve

Also posting wires helps us tracking issues or potential problems

Cheers bro

being animatable will it have damage modelling? grand theft auto games comes to mind with that thought, like deformatable hood and fenders and breakable glass? machines are mortal too.. looks great !

The tech used for damaged vehicles leans more towards this nowadays:
Revolutionary soft-body physics in CryEngine3 - YouTube

As you can see Physics Soft Bodies can do cool stuff to your vehicle. Just make sure your model consist of separate parts. In the older days, like GTA SA and -, damage was predefined by modeling/deforming it manually.

Cheers

Yeah man its crazy hard to keep the verts in line. The edge on the door i smoothed out now. Yeah the back looks crap right now. Just left it for the moment and tried to continue and get more parts looking like car parts. Probably gonna cut out the door when the outside is finished. Thanks for the look man! gonna get a wire up soon

havent thought about breakabilty, its going in CE3 later so, suppose the low poly model needs to have that in consideration.

man i love this stuff, feels like this is a whole new chapter. But i suppose you still need to have the polys to be able to smash it anyway. The underpart of a car have alwats been a trouble knowing how it should look and how parts work and fit toghter.

Yeah i dont know what you really need to do to make it work with soft bodies. It's rather new so...
About your wire, only thing to catches my eyebis that you have a lot of triangles in critical areas (where issue in the backnis, etc). Also got a big ngon in front area
