Old Mercedes truck
Hey guys,
I'm starting a new personal project, it's an old Mercedes truck, very used and abandoned for a couple of years. On the back of the truck, I was thinking to put some straw bales...I guess . Perhaps you'll give me a better idea on the way. It will also have a high poly version and a 2k map. I'll try to update my work and share with you, every couple of days. I have a regular job and other stuff , and I don't have alot of free time.I hope you guys can criticize my WIP ![]() Cheers! ![]() |

Good progress so far! Will you make the inside of the truck as well (seats, steering wheel, etc.)?
Also, is it abandoned as in left on the side of the road without anyone starting it, or the owner just doesn't take care of it, but it is in regular use? |

Thnx bro...I'm not sure that I'll make the interior as well...but it's a good idea and I'll think about it.
The truck is abandoned for a few years and it's not in regular use. I'm not sure I like the three bars on top of the truck, I'm thinking to replace them with something else. |

You could experiment by modelling the interior as well. It gives you a lot of opportunity to make your truck look more abandoned - stolen radio, broken windows, missing door, seats worn by weather etc.
The bars look okay I think - gives you another opportunity to maybe removing one or two, but you could see, that there once was more of those, but got taken away. But we'll see what you decide, I'm curious about the end result ![]() |

Good start.
If you are concerned about the 3 arched bars, have a look at ref: ![]() You can see the similar framework but there is even another frame at the cab end to support the tarp that covers the flatbed. So yours would be fine the way it is and just add another frame.

You said you'll do a High Poly model as well? If so, you def have to take a look at your wire. You have a lot of tri's on critical areas! But as a low poly it's pretty good! You can optimize in some areas (front light has a extra ring in top and not sure if side windows need those edges)
Keep it up!!!! |
