Deus Ex Corridor Scene

Hey Guys,

Foreword:

A while ago i was browsing through some Forums, and someone recreated this Scene :

So some of you will know this scene already, but still, i was pretty much inspired by the Concept-Art and the Game Itself (Deus Ex 3). Well, i decided to recreate the Scene as well a while ago, but i was having a lot of problems with Highpoly-Modeling, and did never finish it. Since then i worked on my Skillset, and a few days ago, i decided to start over, recreate the whole scene, and this time, finish it.

I still need a lot of help to really improve my Workflow, so Crits and Comments are more than welcome!

Enough talking:

Aims:

  • Blockout
    Highpoly-Model
    Lowpoly-Bake
    Texturing
Converting to Engine -> Setting up Lightning / Camera-Angel -> Final Shot =)

Currently working on:
  • Done with Blockout, working on Highpoly

Looks great so far very clean.

probably just the angle but the bit of the wall that has the vents above it looks smaller on the recreated image. also looks like you have an artefact there in the corner.

Thanks for the critics,
-I realized this small black area up there as well, didn't have time yet to fix it, will definately do that immidiately when i continue
-The proportions of the Wall-Part seem to be alright in 3D, pretty sure it's the angle, although it's not as slim as in the concept (as i don't like it that slim), but when it comes to the concept, youre right

No problem here to help

cool as long as your aware of it. they can be nasty on a model.

yeah did look to be the angle.
Fair enough you probably will be able to see more of it when you come to do the final camera angle.

I couldn't wait to texture, so i baked the first part of the scene, and started the texture, as you can see, i decided to move away from that "ultra-clean-look" and move more into "wear and tear"

Remember: This is just a Texture-Test, so the models might overlap in some areas (didn't set up everything, just wanted to check for the texture).

Thanks Moshie
I'm done with normal-mapping and texturing the first part of the modular-wall-sets, others will follow up quickly

BTW: The scene can be split up into following modular-pieces:
As you can see, modeling one of those, makes a huge difference -> progress

Lowpoly/Normal-baked

It's looking good man. Have you worked on the "StrikeForce 2004" mod team?
