A few WIPs, looking for crit :)
Hello guys, I'm brand new here, posted some of my stuff on Polycount before but I thought I'd come here as well and maybe get some fresh eyes
![]() A little bit of background; I'm currently a second year at the University of Hertfordshire, and I'm hoping to get an internship this summer so I'm frantically trying to get everything up to a good standard. These are a few WIP's I have at the moment, if anyone has any advice or critique I'd love to hear it ![]() The first two environments are rendered in CryEngine 3, and the asset is rendered in Marmoset. Because CryEngine's screenshot tool is completely broken, the first two sets are low res print screens with no anti aliasing unfortunately. I plan to add a volumetric spotlight above the jet, and the in the cabin environment, if you go out further along the path in the last two screens, you will come out to a rocky beach with a pier and a seaplane tethered at the end, and after that, the huge lake and the distant mountains, with liberally applied rolling mist (if i have my way ). I'll also be turning that horrible patchy treeline in the middle distance into a much thicker, denser forest, but outside of the cabin area and the pathway I've basically only blocked it out. But yeah, I'm just ploughing through to get it done, if you guys have any input/critique or cool ideas, feel free to hit me with it.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Wow...just...wow!
Your enviorments and props look really great! Technically I sadly can't say that much, because I'am just an amateur can't wait to start his study this september! Awesome work with the light on the hangar enviorment, love the spec of the jet and that dark atmosphere around it! Also all those little details are really great! I also really like the snowy mountian in that forest enviorment. I'am not that familiar with the CE3 but that seems like a lot of work! That container prop is also very good! Great amount of details there and great texture work! So...I can't critique anything because all of those things seem very cool to me! Keep it up! |

Great work so far! Even with print screens its looking good. Really like the jet! Keep it up!
To me the art test model and texture looks a bit weird or its just that i dont really know what it is or what it does, how big it is or anything. Its just a nondescript pillar with a cool normal map on it. :/ |

Thanks guys
![]() Everything in the scenes is custom made, I haven't used anything from Cryengine at all. Yeah the Splash Damage art test is a really weird model, bit of a bad concept in my opinion, but I will be sure to include the concept on my portfolio to show what I was working from. All I could do was just make the best of it really. |

I'm gonna be adding some rocks, a pier, a seaplane, properly detailing the distant shorelines, rolling mist, that sort of thing. The cabin is mainly done, I'm working on the beach area now.
