Angry Ugly Man WIP

Well once again it’s been a while since I last posted. A lot has happened in the past nine months or so (if anyone cares) I graduated from school and have landed my first full time gig as a Technical Artist at a video game studio in the San Francisco bay area called FunSockets it an awesome opportunity and is an amazing job, learning a lot.

Anyways at my job I am pretty much a rigger, and tool implementer so I haven’t had much time to create some character work so I began making this guy when I have free time. Crits are always welcome and I look forward to hearing from the community.

Well done graduating and the job.

The character looks solid except for the bicep muscel into the shoulder muscel, just seems a bit sharp and maybe a bit too much mass in the front of the shoulder muscel.

Indeed, congratz I hope you'll enjoy your job!
Looking good so far. But maybe there is something wrong with the toes to? And not sure, but the calf muscle is very big... Or better said, the calf muscle is not in balance with muscle above (upper leg). It is very noticeable on the right character of the second render.
Cheers!

Thanks guys for you input!

I am currently working on the suggested area's. At this point I pretty much have only worked on the the upper body area and the haven't really touched the hands or feet yet so I will get on that.

I had the studio's art director take a look a few days ago and he gave me a tip. He noticed that I would focus on a particular area instead of working over the entire body to keep things progressing evenly. He said "don't noodle too long in one area what if I said I need it now...? You would be working late today for sure."

Keep the crits coming!

Ok, again thanks for the input thus far. Here is a small update I made some of the suggested changes as well as worked on the hands and feet adding in detail as well as some nice sharp claws. I don’t have any direction as far as design so since I am playing a lot of Star Wars the Old Republic I thought I may make him a Sith Lord so I have begun to work on some armor pieces and a cape. Who knows maybe in a few years I may actually finish this guy.

The low poly looks to have solid topology.
The only problem area looks to be the wrist, it almost looks like it twisting too much (the back shot espicially with muscle/bone that going into the wrist).
Also on the high poly (and probably the low as well) the wrist looks a little thin. (the side on shot of the hand).
Great stuuf keep it up.

Here is a small update. I made the wrists thicker, I left the twist in the wrist for now (wont rig it like that though). I also made the base skin color which I think works for the most part. I havent made any skin textures yet but I think I will keep it pretty simple and not too noisey which is something I have done a lot of in the past.

crits welcome!
