oddworld blimp
Hey, so heres something I've been working on.
update: 20/6/11 ![]() ![]() I'm not having fun texturing this can't seem to get it right. I'm trying to do the fabric right now. but getting the lines/stitching/fabric right doesn't seem to be happening.Last edited by lloyd; 20-06-2011 at 12:58 PM. |

Looking pretty sweet!
Are you trying to get the textures all on to one sheet? What size? I could see an asset like this having 2-3 texture sheets, one for cloth and one for the rest. How are you doing the glass? Is there going to be a cockpit visible inside? |

Well I tried doing all one map but that didn't work out. right now its 3.
1 x fabric 1 x body [purple panelling] 1 x everything else right now the cockpit domes are part of the 'everything else' map. if this goes well i was considering moving the glass to its own smaller map and making it transparent, then using the texture space it had taken up on the texture for the inside cockpit objects. |

Wow looking cool, with that font its almost got a kinda Team Fortress/Bioshock vibe to it. I still think the beige and red on the walls could be broken up a lot more. Maybe some more differentiation between the rust and block grey on the front cylinder. At the moment there's a lot of block colors that need to be broken up, but its set to be a really nice final piece!

This is great, although I agree with torch about the block colours. At the moment, everything seems a little too clean when compared with the concept. It doesn't read well with the rust on the cylinder-type-thingy at the front.
Also, i noticed that the concept shows some of the sails as slightly torn- perhaps you could integrate that with an alpha map? Just a thought.
