Help me to become a better 3D artist!

Hi all, havn't posted here in a while so I thought I'd start a new thread and post my most recent work, everything you see below is still being worked on to some degree, I plan to get them all finished soon enough. For now though heres all the different characters I've made a start on, hope you enjoy them and c & c is always welcome, also here's my deviant account if you'd like to see more of my work:

Thanks guys! I really hope to get time to work on that clown again. For now though heres some recent models I've been working on since I'm now turning my attentions to environment art as thats where I would like my first job to be.

To start heres a sci-fi crate WIP, reworking the low poly at the moment and also the shader itself, will have an update on that real soon.

Next one is a door, not too happy with it personally but I'm moving on!

The last one here is a model I'm working on right now, created the high poly and baked a normal and AO map from it as shown. Just need to make the specular map now. C & c most welcome!

Thanks for checking this out!

Steve

Added some lighting to the diffuse map to help the source shader out, made a spec map and greened it up. I'm gonna go ahead and say it's done, might push the spec map a little more maybe but other than that I think it's come out nice.

I remember your first Zbrush anatomy/character wip... and you've come along way since then! Stuff is looking good man! I particularly like the hard surface stuff you did on the doors/props, nice design work and attention to detail. Characters sculpts are looking solid as well, but could use some further attention in textures ...

keep up the good work man!

good stuff, im beginning an environment as well. i'd like to see your model with just the normals or normals+AO applied because they seem to lose face/detail when you apply your diffuse map

i think your high poly sculpt is too sharp around the corners/edges. it does not carry over well when baked into the normal map. you should produced more rounded edges (on your high poly sculpt) because they show more form when used in a normal map

can't wait to see more updates!

Diffuse textures looks a little poor to me.

ZeRobert: Thanks a lot man, didn't think anyone would remember my first 3D work lol Been working with 3D for just over a year now so hoping to improve again with another year of hard work!

ransomInK: I think the normals are fine, hopefully maybe these next updates will show you I've had them looked over by a couple of pro's and no one had a problem with them.

RKotern: Not the most constructive comment ever posted :|

Wanted to take a small break from environment stuff and try and get this sculpt together, it's getting there...slowly, not having much time to spend on this guy is getting annoying! Hopefully I can get this sculpt finished soon :| Crits are welcome at this stage, also heres the reference image I used for the back of the jacket, quite happy with the back (still have work to do there), not as happy with the front yet (have lots of work to do there lol)
