@Airage: Thanks. Basically the main thing I can't understand is shading. I get layers. I get actual shading, just not how to do so on the computer. It also just seems to take so much longer via digital. I can pump out quality concepts in 5-10 mins a piece by using pencil.

Well, Ima try to bring this thread back to life with my completely amatuer digital painting.
This is my absolute first attempt at a painted form of artwork, and honestly some of my first attempts at sketching. I used to do alot of fine art in middle school, then stopped until now, in which I've been sketching for about a week. Original Concept: ![]() Painted in CS3: ![]() I would consider it hardly original (Ironman+Masterchief+Timeshift?), but it is my first attempt ![]() |

Thanks dudes, really appreciate it.. Nice concept airage, really enjoyed checking your work out throughout this thread. And your right, where the hell is Sideshowbob, he was pretty epic! Anyway, uni's almost finished now so I hope to update with this more frequently.
Each of these are studies from reference and not so speedy but were a good learning curve! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
