Ship concepts for MSU contest

Just starting out, but still be brutally honest
Attempting to concept a Futuristic ship for the center piece in my teams mod for the Make Something Unreal contest by Epic Games. Any advice would be great!!

I think you should not be lazy and if you do symmetrical flipping then to afterward edit it to get rid of the exact symmetry. It also gives a boring pose unless you need it for modeling purposes.

I did this in about 4-5 hours or so.

It was a rought digital painting for Unreal 3 map I am making. More of an inspiration piece. I am very happy with it and its the best i've done yet.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Good piece alexG, Almost perfect. The water and the backgroundsky could use some moar love.

And the thing where the person is standing has too much light coming from unknown direction.

Decent stuff but they're pretty generic looking (aside from the first one). Maybe try messing with ideas and take inspiration from modern day weaponry and you'll come up with some cool twists on realistic-but-futuristic weaponry. You might get a lot more interest then.

Check out Earthquake's stuff for ideas on what I mean.
