However, I would highly suggest you think of some way to make him more original, I know it's hard, as people have been doing the same danged undead designs for years, but every once in a while, somebody comes up with something really new. I'm not sure exactly what you could add, but I really think some spice is needed for this concept.Very nice detailed painting there. The neck looks a little skinny, and the form doesn't seem quite bulky enough to be the MC, but overall good work! |

![]() The main thing covered in the meeting was what separates the undead from the bosses, and whilst the bosses may not be original (at least their head anyways) they are completely different from the undead, which is what my boss is shooting for, (he does the ideas, I just take 'em and put 'em on paper) I do agree, I usually for my art, I take something noticeable, recognizable, etc etc, and alter it to make it my own, but a lot of us know, sometimes it can be hard with different clients and designers. |

I'm working on something to show for in a portfolio, and I need something new for it. So I went for a futuristic pistol..
But in order to model one, I needed a concept of one. So with a cunning use of images of DeWalt drills, and with the look of an Ipod in my mind, this is the result: ![]() I decided to sketch less and do more photoshoping, and I'm quite happy with the general look of it.. just need to alter a few things, and it's ready for modeling ![]() |

You're right about all that for sure. Some clients can be awfully picky about a certain concept being followed to the letter, original or not. But hey, in the end, originality of design isn't always the most important thing anyway, because the USE of a creature, or weapon may make it original. I guess all artists have that sort of problem. I mean, how are you going to make an original mini-gun, when 1,000,000 games have them. ![]() Quote:
Pretty creeping, very "half-life". And you say you sketched it on a train? Ooooooh.... |
