In order to get better at 3d i'm spending alot of time drawing lately. The fact that we have to design a next gen character might have something to do with it to. There's obviously alot wrong with all my drawings, but i'm learning alot along the way...

doylle you have some real promise with the space ship design. the woman is nicely done and the faces and torso, tho needing a little work, are not far off awesome. I like the storyboard type layout as well...gives the viewer a stack of images to look at without having to scroll and shows thought process. nice.

thanks man, much appreciated . My billboard is doing a great job indeed

The torso is probably the best drawing in the row (on a technical level), though the anatomy isn't totaly correct. Heads are euh, well, difficult ^^. I had some good feedback from my lecturer, who told me a new way to draw heads, other than the one from loomis i'm using now, which is alot better and faster than the workflow from loomis i'm using atm. I'll see if i can post some of those later on...

yea doylle.. no matter what tricks u do, what stylish effects u use.. or even gettin tips from pro's (even tho they do actually help a bit heh) it just takes time.. you have just got to draw draw draw ! just keep at it man and dont give up... i only started drawing in 2006 well... to be fair i started about october 2005 ! anyway ive been drawin about 2 years half and yea ive improved compared to before ! but im still pretty shit ! ... but what ive realized is that no matter it just takes time to develop ya know.. of course try and draw as much time as u can ! and keep at it man.. at least your starting off properly good luck anyway dude

oh yea and here is a before and after hah pic on the left is like December 2005 then the Pic on right is last months work ! both pics took about 2 hours so yea hope u can see the slight improvement hah .

I want to have some colored canvas

Okay, I live in Australia. I am 22 years old; I love painting, decorating, art etc. Now a day I am up to decorate my home. I want to have some colored canvas and I want to make it myself so that I can choose size and shape according to my choice. Can anyone tell me how to make colored canvas for wall art? Is there any idea of craft shops or where I can get stuff? Also I would like to know how the whole thing including canvas is made and what sort of stuff is used to make canvas? Thanks a lot.
