You should probably avoid drawing dark objects on dark backgrounds. It ends up being a smudgy mess with the details and forms being extremely hard to make out.
This is especially bad for concept art like this because trying to do anything further with the concepts (e.g. build a model using them) immediately becomes troublesome due to vague and obscured details and forms. For concept art, work with a contrasting background colour and good lighting conditions so that you can show off all the details and forms to their fullest.
