Hmwwv M1025
Working on a highpoly M1025.
Trying to become less lazy when it comes to sub-d. Next time I'll use floaters for text.. D: Back is highly work in progress, have to add a shitload of hinges for that hatch to work..

Looks good, accurate also. Only thing I think isn't correct, is that the sides of the windshield are a lot more straight and not so slant.
Also why should you be less lazy with SubD? It turns in to wayyy too much work if you let it get out of hand...

Thanks.
The problem about accuracy in general is, that there seem to be a lot of different version of this thing. I searched for M1025 and all the pictures are a little different, so I start to pick pieces I like the most from each of these. You are right about the windshield though, I need to make it more straight. About the SubD lazyness.. I just noticed how many floaters I've been using lately, and I was wondering how much of a better result I could get without. Of course, there are usually time constraints, that make the use of quick 'n dirty tricks necessary, but I wanna see, if the result justifies the time more spend..

One thing I noticed right away (did this when I made mine also), the areas/ sockets that hold the extra lights on the front, next to the head lights. They are not actually mirrored. The left side (as the viewer) is smaller than the right. Everything else looks pretty good.
Dont know if these will help you. I recently got done with a hummer. http://www.game-artist.net/forums/wo...hicle-set.html I can post a few more renders if you like or other details if you are missing them. Also, along with many other places, I found this site really good for reference. That walkaround is amazing, thanks for sharing. Also the different sizes of the extra headlight sockets totally slipped me. Probably something I'll have to change in the end, because I wanna keep the symmetry modifier up as long as possible.

Tiny update..
/edit: Cock! I messed up the end of the bonnet. :/ /edit 2: Yep, things are making a lot more sense now. Ignore the back door, I just mirrored the front one and moved some verts yet..
