Outer Space (maybe?) storage facility
Another industrial-type environment coming your way, though it started off with a space kind of feel when I started it around Christmas. It's a map for UT2k4, and this is the first map I have confidence in finishing and releasing to the public. I did it mostly for texturing practice with metal and other building type materials. I'm satisfied with the aesthetic, but I'm running dry of ideas at the moment. The map really isn't that complex right now, so it will probably be released as a 1-on-1 DM map.

Hi,
very impressive work man. I realy like it. Textures look quite amazing for UT2k4. What are the texture sizes? Only thing i miss are things that you want to store. Maybe you can add crates or something to make it look even more interesting... If you ever release it, don't forget to post it here... |

That does look impressive indeed. I love the mood of the level, definatley feels like an off world outpost. Im not sure what 'state' you intend the map to be in but you can add more depth and detail by having some of the floor and/or wall pannels out of place. (This is what most people tend to do anyway)
Also can the player access that upper area you show off in the screens? It would be a pitty to go to all that effort to make it look as it does if players will only see the area from below, and at a fleeting glance when they're in a battle. All the best, Dan |

I will definitely make it more messy and throw in some props scattered around, but that won't come until near the end. All textures are 512x512. I have to mention, the texture of the floor in the first pic comes from the game, but I'll be replacing it. I think that there are 6 of my textures in these pics. The upper area will be accessed through passageways that go up to openings at the sides.
Thanks for the feedback, I have a better idea of what I will do now. |
