High poly M9 knife blade problem need help
This is the first high poly object i have my with out a tutorial and i have got the blade pretty much the way i like it apart from the back end.
I would be really great full if someone could point a way around my problem, picture below show my problem! Cheers! ![]() |

You should get rid of any triangles you have in that section.
Also add a couple of extra cuts next to that area to ensure its gonna have a hard edged look. Same goes for the area on top. Make sure that there are edges running along there. |

First of all you have triangles that are converging to a point, which will either make for a smooth gradient (not a hard edge) or it will pinch the mesh.
Secondly I notice that some of your edges terminate abruptly. You should always try to add full edge loops when doing a high poly model (sometimes it's ok, like on flat surfaces). I would also recommend using a basic material with a high spec so that you can see any 'pinching' or defects on the high poly mesh. Hopefully this pic will help, it was hard to try and draw how to get rid of the triangles though, you'll just have to play around with it. ![]() |
