Unreal propblems

hello there sorry to be a pain again. I have been using unreal for about a week now and I have found 2 problems that I keep coming across.

1) when I use one of the viewpoints it doesn't show meshes that I have imported in( my own and the ones in the editor.) but if I look in one of the other viewpoints its there. can this be resolved if so how.

2) I make my level and then I go to push the in game button so I can play my game but for some reason it only shows the lighted object and the rest of the screen is black. has any one eels come along this problem if so how did you resolve it.

I hope this all make scenes.

plezz can some one help.

Ash

Hello,

1) you probably pressed "W" which togles your static meshes visability.

2) did you rebuild your lighting? not sure what you mean with "lighted object", but i'm guessing that that is a bsp box?

Number one is a common problem well not a problem just something everyone does from time to time. It can be fixed by pressing W as doylle says or each view port has a little down arrow along the top. If you click it you can toggle the view for all the different object and actor types.

Have you added enough lighting it may just be the case that it’s not been re-built? Unless you have added a sky light one light is not going to be enough to light an entire map. By default there are no lights in the map you can only see in the view port as you can turn lighting effects on and off.

Try adding a few more lights and make sure the radius cover everything. When starting to block out a map its a good idea to just add a sky light so you can see everything, then as you start to detail remove it and add more detailed lights.
