That is quite puzzling Stefan. It says there's some unrecognized alien symbol on line 1, character 3.
I've checked my file: i've never used this symbol and can't find it anywhere. Doylle just tested it for me on Max 2009 32bit, and it works fine there. Could you post a screenshot of what the .fx file looks like in notepad? I'm thinking a corrupt download.

I tried re-downloading & get the same thing,could you try emailing the file to me at 3dsmorrell@gmail.com
the file size I'm getting is 4.35 KB (4,461 bytes)
screenshot shows windows doesnt recognise it as an fx file,I had to add the extension to get max to read it which is where I get the error.
viewing in notepad it's all in heavy code,like opening a file notepad isnt meant to read,not like viewing any other fx file where you can see everything.

which leads me to think something about my windows setup is doing it.I just tried a download from nvidia shader library & those fx files display fine

Ah yeah sounds like a very strange problem. Looks utterly and completely corrupted, so there's your problem. It should be readable instead of random characters. I'll mail you the file then

Hey Guys,

this Shader rocks really, but I have a big display problem.

@Xoliul

You are awesome. Keep up the great work.

So, now to my problem:

I have big display error. There are somekind of stripes at my objects and the textures are too bright. The other Shader of Dollye is working perfect.

I am using 3ds Max 2009 32-Bit with Vista Ultimate.

I would appreciate your help.


PS: @Stefan Morrell

How are you using Cubemaps in the Viewport?

And by the Way: You are doing awesome work.

Dali, please post a screenshot of your problem, as wel as what kind of maps you use and when it happens (did you enable shadows?) You have to be a little bit more clear about your problem.

If I had to guess, it sounds like you have (I think its called this??) Enable Rim Light checked at the VERY bottom of the feature list. Uncheck it if it is, sometimes it will throw some odd results like that.
