3 questions.
Is there anyway to get this shader to work with 2 sided textures? There just invis for me if its a single poly plane. Two: When I render the image it shows up grey and without any textures on it at all. Is there a reason for this? Third: How do you turn up Max's viewport antialisting? Mine seems to be super low quality default settings so my screen grabs look nothing like the images I see people post when using your shader. Thanks for the info and shader. |

@ cryrid: that could work prefectly yes... I don't have much spare time left lately, so i haven't been able to make a no check box version.
@ Autocon: 1. As far as i know, that's impossible. Technically you'd have to change the winding of the polies to flip the normal. And i don't think you can acces max objects on that kind of level. 2. That's because scanline only works with max materials, and doesn't know the shader, or what to do with it. But, when you apply the dx material, max shout prompt you and ask "Keep old material as sub-material". Say yes here. When you now go to the bottom of the shader, you'll find a tab called "Software render style", with 1 material there. That's the material max will use when it has to render with scanline. 3. That's something you have to set in your graph card settings. Nvidia's control panel has a couple settings that you can use to play with it. I used to set it that my viewport had AA to, but it's actually quite annoying, and i quickly turned it of again (it'll AA your tools, cursors, gizmo's, ect too) J

THis is really nice - I'd been using my own hacked version of ben cloward's shaders up until now but I think I'm converted at last.
I'm pretty new to the <whatever>LSL stuff but I'm hoping to get one together that receives shadows. Have you considered looking at that - maybe you could give me some clue as to how to start? thanks for the shader dude ![]() |
