Crytek SDK and 3ds max 2009

Alright guys, Ive got a huge problem. I got my Crysis Special Edition today, installed everything, including Sandbox and the patchs 1.1 and 1.2. Everything works nice. Downloaded Cryteks SDK as well and heres the problem, the 3ds max export plugins do not work with 3ds max 2009, I always get an error that the plugin wasnt made for that version and the plugin doesnt load. I have windows Vista which means nothing under 3ds max 2008 works on my PC, 3ds max 2009 and 2010 arent supported (only tried 2009 because I dont have 2010) and 3ds max 2008 doesnt work because I get some registration error, even after reinstalling everything.

Alot of other people have the same problem, there is no plugin for 2009 which means I need someone from the community who has 3dsmax 2008 and the plugins to export the materials and models for me :/ So if someones here who would like to help me to get the whole War of the worlds project into Crysis, please help me, I would really appreciate it. I see no other way at the moment.

Max 9 works fine on Vista here, same for 2008 and 2009. I wouldn't recommend having someone else do it for you, since you have to do a lot of re-exporting when you just get started with something like this.

Yeah, just noticed 3ds max9 runs on Vista when opened with admin rights, more or less :/ Should be good enought for exporting although I get some error messages when exporting, heres my result after importing it into sandbox:

The polies are of those wheels are flipped and only one half of the mesh is iluminated like it should be. I have no idea if its because of 3ds max9 and vista (and the export error) or just a problem with the mesh :/

And the physics of that mesh are crazy

There is in fact a plugin for 2009. See this thread -> Sandbox Editor 2 [Crysis] - MASTER THREAD - Polycount

more specifically how to get it work here -> Polycount - View Single Post - Sandbox Editor 2 [Crysis] - MASTER THREAD

Did you reset x-form before exporting? That's most likely the problem with the wheels.

And as for the illumination, this is a common problem that occours when you mirror a texture. In Unreal I think it's an issue with lightmaps and possibly normalmaps. You might want to look into that a bit.

WTF, don't tell me Crysis also has a problem with flipped textures? I hate how that happens in Unreal, I keep thinking must be better not to use light-baking like in Crysis...

So the SDK that works in 3DSmax 2009 is for crysis wars? Does that mean I have to go out and buy that?

Yeah, im asking myself right now why i bought Crysis lol.

Well, download Crysis wars trial and the sand box editor for it + all tools for 3ds max 2009 and it works way better. But there are still some problems with the maps. The first is, my normalmap doesnt work because it seems like it has to be a .DDN file, I have no idea how to create one :/ Google didnt help. And my opacity map doesnt work as well and I have no idea why. Still havent figured out how to give it reflections :/ Heres a picture of the car ingame:

The tires are rubber, all lights and windows are glass, the rest is metal. Im proud of myself

@EDIT: Normalmap problem solved thank to ICHII3D

I can't find the tools for 2009, I've search (and googled) but it all comes up the current toolset that I have which is incompatable with the max 2009. Also can't get the cgf exporter to work for maya so all my crappy models can't be exported to CE2

Any advice guys?
