Well, download Crysis wars trial and the sand box editor for it + all tools for 3ds max 2009 and it works way better. But there are still some problems with the maps. Hi Schaefft,

the _DDN is a SUFFIX, which means your normal map needs to be named like this:

yournormalmapname_DDN

Then it should work. Thats really important, to do it that way.


Now to you Alpha Map Problem:

What is your workflow when creating it?

Do you use the CryTIFF Plugin in Photoshop?

As far as I know, you should have the Alpha Map in the Diffuse Map as a Channel, but I am not sure though.

Also there are a few things when saving it, which you need to take care of. But I am not really experienced in that Section. Somewhere you can choose to save it with Alpha or something like that.

Alpha: Have the alpha in the alpha channel of the diffuse and put Opacity to "99" instead of "100".

Found out the reason, was that although I installed the 2009 plugins it had the max 9 plugin still installed and giving me errors but the actual exporter works fine
