Some help/tips

Hello

I am seeking for some help or tips from people who have good experience at being an texture artist.

I have been into modeling vehicles and other objects for now about a year (low-poly) but whenever i try to texture for example a tank for a game my skills are not enough .

(Photoshop) I have used photoshop for about 4 years, but for design and working. Now that i want to start making textures i am no good at it.

So some great tips and help or even good tutorials ( i checked articles around here and did some searching ) would be realy nice. Or if someone even has a bit time to deal with a begginer like me at texturing give me a pm

Ps. sorry for my bad english

Thanks, but this tutorial is around here in articles section too. Do you happen to have more tutorials like these?

After i did some searching around i found a site that has a good tutorial James O'Donnell - jeodonnell@gmail.com
The result looks good and i am gonna give it a try, though when reading this tutorial the author skips some parts

Thanks for the help, and for the link psychodaddy. Some good stuff there.

I've been slowly messing around with the tank turret, and it's looking good so far. I'l show it soon so i can get some comments and hear what needs to be changed.

ok man my advice...do as many random tuts as u can
also get some good textures used for background...like random textures...to use as overlays
then i suggest photos from like cgtextures.com then edit them or make ur own wood etc. my problem is i suck at weapons but i can texture statics pretty well.

Hi again. I've been messing around with the tank texture and have gotten some good results. I've made some in-game screenshots of the tank.

Ignore the missing wheels of the tank, as i hit the game engine limit and I need to redo them.

I'm quite happy with what i have achived, but it wont stand out from the crowd, if you know what i mean. It is still missing something and i cant figure out what it is. Any ideas? and what you think of it so far.
