Bad lighting in my opinion. If it's UVmapped as a symetrical cylinder, I add a highlight at the top and one slighty further down. It's hard to explain so I just loaded up one of my base metals and made a quick example.

Hope this helps.

Ok but when you make a metal with a highlight my skinner senses tingle and tell me its a CYLINDER.

And don't call me a noob u big noob

FraGGer is da biggest noob in this forum, lol only kiddin mate. Btw I havn't been able to get on MSN lately it says somthing about my 'key ports' with a big fat corrupt exclamation mark next to it.

And also fragger why are you making skinning tutorials :S I realize you'v made attempts at skinning but you never actually skinned a full weapon. I think you should learn to skin yourself before you enter the ranks of a 'teacher' . Make modeling tutorials if your going to make a tutorial.

My saying is anybody can become a weapon/props skinner if they put their minds to it. It's skinning organic models which is the proper artists job, hence If you look at character skins they resmple a painting more than anything(unless oldschool photoskinned)
