It's been quite some time since I've posted here. I actually forgot that I did post here until stumbling across this colorful little corner of the internet.
I've been working a fair bit on my mod and have had a friend send me 12 DVD's at the start of last year ranging from low poly character modelling to some advanced rigging "The art of rigging". I'm also right into music creation, it's fun, a bit repetative, but it's rewarding in the end and I have produced some tracks which musically minded friends have said good things about such as: "This would go well with the 28 weeks later trailer" "This sounds like a mixture between the marilyn manson resident evil theme song and rammstein" "dude I got chills up my spine" They are 3 quotes which I remember quite fondly, so my musical abilities have nothing to worry about ![]() As for creation of my city. Well, hasn't this been a pain in the proverbial. I have been going well with it, albeit a little bit slow due to having depression since well before having started my mod/TC, but I've come out of that depression not long ago and i'm back to how I was when I first started (nearly ALWAYS working on the mod or learning what I need to learn for the mod). I have been without the internet for 3 months as well, and in that time I was creating a demo level which was going to be designed as a prototype level with a bit of everything inside of it, unfortunately at the end of that 3 months, just after getting my internet back on, my hard drive was corrupted while trying to fix my dads hard drive on my computer and so I lost that 3 months of work (the whole my documents folder was erased completely which was where my level was). Thankfully the guy who sent me those DVD's had a backup of that level that I sent him before those three months, and I am back working with that level again. I am also working on other environments which are shaping up very nicely. I can't show the work I have done since the mod won't be announced until it is done. So as much as I would love to show the work i've done. I can't. You will all know about it when it is done though .Anyway, I just thought i'd post to let you all know that i'm still in action, my goals are still in place and I'm still working towards completing my goal. If I could work on this goal while being in a severe state of depression without giving up on it, there is no way in hell that I am giving up on it now (not being depressed anymore). BTW, i'm not sure if I told you all about the engine I was using. It is the XRay engine for the game STALKER: Shadows of Chernobyl, however due to there not being a fully fledged SDK out for Singleplayer yet, I will be making the mod of STALKER: Clear Skies which is an engine that is improved in every aspect and has pretty much everything that I need to make my mod. |
