sounds kool to me. most ppl i kno use maya and it'll be a plus to have that as well (the default way to view normal maps in maya suck right now). i would seriously use maya more when the shader comes out. take your time on it, i kno it'll be great!

Is it the anisotropic filtering control? I did this but there is no change in texture quality.

allot of interest in a maya version apparently. Transparency in maya is very disappointing indeed, but with HLSL shaders it will only improve on single models. If you have multiple models in your scene then 9 chances out of 10 it will be wrong as well. (depending of the draw order of you meshes).

Thanks so much for this. It makes looking at my models so much better than constantly rendering out. I did actually try it out a couple of months back but it didn't want to work for watever reason, but I am glad I gave it another go.
