Garage texture question
Hi im starting to work back on a garage i did a while ago. Its low poly and everything is modeled i just need to texture it. My question is how do i go about texturing and unwrapping the walls? Should i use procedural texturing for some things, most, or half and half? Ive heard about tile texturing for walls but never tried it. So if anyone could help me out or provide any tutorials on how to unwrap and texture interiors i will be thankful.

I'd use tileable textures for sure. It's the only way you'll be able to maintain a propper texture size / texture detail ratio. (I'm thinking rather big when you say garage, you're not talking about a box to place a single car in right?). I suppose you could use procedural textures to, but unless you're realy good with them, i find it very hard to add small details en stuff...
Personaly, i'd make a mix of tileable textures for your base, and use something like here, with planes and alpha's for the extra details... CGTalk - Environments for a Crysis mod While at CGT i spotted the images in your post there... You might want to post them here to, so that people can see what it is you are working on... cheers ![]() |
