handpainted texture help

Hello,

I am trying to get my texture skills a bit up but I have no idea where to start. Anyone has some good tutorials or can give me some tips?

Thanks in advance.

(I made the sword for this practise, it has normals + AO).

This one is Amazing in depth Tut by 3D Motive.
but this will also work if you know some basics..
