well yeah is a immage format and is used by manny engines but i think thats the reason why after ver 5 of 3ds wont give suport of it. so i stick to photoshop on editing/exporting.
but hmm...in what do i create new enviroment,items, etc (mmorpg) since all the files in client are tga and dds. also idk what engine was used on creating (2006). but if u say so..yeah maybe cry engine. im noob...sorry i put dummy questions. |

I dont realy get what you want to do. Maybe an exact explanation would be helpful...
Do you want to export/import models into an engine? Do you want to save/convert images to dds files? Do you just want to see them in 3dsMax Viewport? Are you looking for an exporter which brings your model and your material into an engine? I also don't think that the Cryengine was used for creating a mmorpg in 2006, would be defenetely the wrong choise. Give some more information (mod, personal project, indi game, etc.)... Overall it sounds like you want to create some stuff for WoW? |

nop.....is for a game called "Rappelz". Guys from team finished to decrypt the client and all they got there were a lot of tga and dds files. original client was created in 2006..the client im working is from 2010, so idk... im just looking for a better way to edit the dds files, not only photoshop(+dds plugin), plus i got a problem there on exporting with x64 platfor but i managed with a script from web.
they currently create an emu..but i need do somthing...other then searching on web... what i wanna do...is to customise the dds (ex import from other resource from other games(guild wars(they used dds there),aion(didnt checked yet but i think here too) , and save them as dds). i can do that with photoshop...but idk..i check every possibleway.... also woud be nice to see in what engine were created ..since is looking and have same resources like guildwars. |

Thanks for your tribute, If I find some time I'll defenetely will take a look on that.
To your problem: I was working on a Starcraft 2 Mod 1 year ago, and we need .dds files for this too. We decided to use the "dds-converter" , just google it. Its a little tool (freeware) which converts PNG, TGA, JPEG and some other formats into dds. |

piflick... no1 asked you annything. since when reverse engeneering is a fraud/piracy?
artist created tutorial...what are u talking about m8...clear ur ideears in ur head...is a missmatch there. since when using other graphics is a problem...since amoust 50% are imported from older ones or rebuilde based on same ideeas. ex: if i was the graphician of first mmo, and ive designed the first dragon, no1 havethe right to design and use a new model in the upcoming games?. bah...piflic, if you dont have anny ideea, pls dont post usless posts here, u become pathetic. |
