No I'm using the 2011er version because my shaders, plugins and scripts wont work in the 2012 edition and I realy like them.
I'm using xNormal for baking, its faster and more easier to bake down your models (supports cages, has a implemented ray trace distance calculator). It also coming along with a nice photoshop plugin to create e.g. cavitiy maps per filter.

@Mr.Cash, I have decided to go back down to 3ds max 2011 cause maybe I am having the same problem as you. If you don't mind, can you tell me the settings that you use for baking normal maps in xnormal?

Mostly default settings, so maximum frontal/rear ray distance is 0.5, no usage of cage. If i get artifacts in my bakings i start to change the ray distance, if this dont work I use the ray distance calculator which you can find in "tools" and only for very complex meshes I'm using a cage instead of ray distances.

Yep thats all.
