Ray miss errors....Please help!
Hi All,
Well this is my first attempt at texture baking in Max and it's not going so well. I am getting these ray miss errors, yet my cage is completely encompassing my high poly mesh. Any advice would be appreciated. Also I don't understand why the latches on the case are rendering black. The normals aren't flipped. Perhaps it' s the intersecting geometry Thanks Jeff ![]() |

Have you baked all those objects separately? or all in one bake?
Personally I'd bake those things separately. Also have you made sure the red parts have UV space within the 1,1 uv co-ordinates? I'd put some more images up because at the moment it's hard to tell. UVs, screenshot of the cage, high poly etc |

Are you baking with Scanline or MRay? The latter has (had?) a problem with hitting the Lowpoly Object, too, so you have to add a additional edit Poly Modifier (below the Projection Modifier) and hide all polygons in there.
The things rendering black could be caused by flipped UVs. MRay has a Problem with that, too. |
