Shading problem?

Hello,

I just bought a model pack to do some tests but when i use it in my scene (it is a flash scene to test the net flash player with gpu support) i get some shading errors on some faces.

When i load the model in 3dmax i get the following result:

As you can see some faces are darker then others but i have no idea why, but when i remove the face and redraw it exactly the same the problem is gone..

Does any one have any idea what this is and how can i fix this (without re-drawing every face by hand)

Have you tried resetting the object's XForm? If that doesn't work try adding a Normal modifier to it after resetting the XForm and select 'Unify Normals' (and don't forget to uncheck 'Flip Normals').

Hmm, both don't work.
But i found something else, when i select all faces with the polygon selection tool and use auto smooth then it is fixed
